Spring is definitely on its way to San Diego. It was 70 degrees (21.1 C) and gorgeous here today, and the daytime temp is forecast to be in the mid-to-high 70s for the rest of the week. However, the ocean temperature is hovering around 60 degrees F (15.6 C), so I thought you might like some info on La Jolla hotel swimming pools.
The majority of La Jolla hotels have pools that are heated to 80 – 85 degrees F year round. The warmest are the Residence Inn by Marriott and Hotel La Jolla, a Kimpton Hotel – which are kept at about 84-85 F (about 29.4 C).
If you’re looking for a salt water pool, your best La Jolla hotel options are The Lodge at Torrey Pines and La Jolla Cove Suites.
If size matters, of all the La Jolla hotel swimming pools, the one at the La Jolla Beach & Tennis Club is the largest at 60‘ x 75’ – best of the bunch for swimming laps.
A pool with a view? The one at La Valencia on Prospect Street overlooks Scripps Park and the ocean and was once featured on the cover of Travel & Leisure Magazine. I also really love the view from the pool at The Lodge at Torrey Pines, which offers a fantastic panorama of the Torrey Pines Golf Course and the ocean beyond.

Of course, you have to be staying at one of these La Jolla hotels to swim in their pools, but anyone can pay a fee and swim at The La Jolla Family Y (84 F) or the Coogan Family Pool at La Jolla High School (80 F / 26.7 C).
